Trespassing on a Public Airport?

eg: stopmotion, new-york, street
Ignorance or power trip? The poor paramotor pilot gets hassled by a Sheriff. The pilot handled it very well. Nice video, this could happen to any of us, especially the 103 pilots

Actually non N numbered ultralights DO in fact require permission to use public airports. To the best of my understanding he did in fact need approval from the airport manager to be operating out of there.

On that note, anything that anyone builds that meets the part 103 regs does not have permission to just waltz down to the local airport and give it a go. A good airport manager will check to see if an ultralight operator has flown before, has an understanding of airport procedures and may want to inspect the aircraft since none of these are a given in the part 103 world. You have to consider it could be an educated, experienced PPG pilot or Billy Bob that’s never flown anything in his life that just won an Easy Riser in a Poker bet and is ready to fire it up test his luck.
