A little too close for comfort. I saw it about the same time it came into video camera range

I had the same thing today only a little closer, Piper with no com's or his com was off, passed me 200' above and 200' to the left side coming towards me? I always announce were I am every 15 min or so, even when I'm not in a busy area. Glad I had a upper and lower strobes. WTF?

Andy, I'd bet a lot that pilot never saw you. I fly Pipers and find it disconcerting how you can't see below you, profoundly on the right. Having now dabbled in airplanes makes me even more vigilant in a trike. I think we can assume we have MUCH better visibility than anyone else. Even so, I was surprised lately by a (large, fast) helicopter a few weeks ago that overtook me from behind and above. I was just explaining to my passenger (who was in a delicate hung-over state) that trikes are not really the best for straight and level, and lo, I had reason for a quick spiral dive.

Tractor configuration may better in terms of efficiency but they are hopeless when in comes to forward visibility. Never going back to tractors again, Pushers all the way!

Heather, that is too funny! Having a delicate passenger in a spiral, lol. I have had the same thing on my bike. Hungover cutie pie thinks she is the bomb, pass a car going from 30 to 80 mph. Next thing I pull over for breakfast, puke all over my back and miss party girl has mascara and vomit on her face and in her hair. We should meet up some time. Andy, from Canada

The object you are going to collide with is simply a dot that gets bigger ..whether it be f15 vs para-gilder .It is always a stationary dot getting bigger and very hard to see . low sped vs low speed is a bit better, but no matter the angle of intercept it is still a stationary dot ...something to consider . Any dot that is running across your field of vision is no threat ...but still scary .. strobes deal with this well.
