Pretty nice. Any advice for flying over mountains? I'm starting to venture out a bit from hilly areas and would like to fly over some 4k' peaks in the NH white mountains. I noticed that most fly along ridge tops and avoid valleys.

Tom c. Get some really good resorce matierial. I think dennis peagan has some good books . All ive flown mainly has been montana mountains. Definatly watch out for lee side sink , lee side rotors, Steep ridges with abrupt cliff edges produce severe ridge rotors in wind. Avoid them like the plauge.also mountain wave can be tricky severe lift and severe sink. Dont always rely on the wx as well like last year i met todd ware when i was goimg to fly mt mcdonald.Wx called for calm surface westerlys. And winds aloft at 12 thousand at 15mph west.Turned out it was 15mph surface and 35mph to 40mph at 12 thousand. Glad i packed it in or they still would be put looking for what the grizzly bear didnt like of me!

Todd - In this video- I'm running a Bionix 15. I have since put on a new Northwing Conquest 12.4. Really liking it as now I'm playing around with an electric trim option and enjoy the increased agility. I'm giving it two thumbs up!

    Tom C,
Go here and read every page:
It is written for airplanes, but almost everything is applicable to trike flying in the mountains.

Jeff I took a look at those books I think I will purchase them. they look pretty good. Never can learn enough about mountain flying. No such thing as a crash course. hot high deserts like New Mexico and big mountains like Montana make a good pilot squeamish.
