On Board The REVO with Larry Mednick

eg: stopmotion, new-york, street
A pilot's perspective of The REVO trike and handling characteristics of the Reflex 11 wing. Larry demonstrates the stability and manueverability of his new wing, with his most recent winglet creation. Marsha takes the video from the back seat. This video is imagined, performed, directed and edited by Larry - with a little help. The wind was gusty, but the sky was clear with beautiful color and scenery. This flight on 12-20-09 has a couple of clips added, to see the REVO manuever from an air to air view. The camera is a Sony HDR-SR12 with a recently added Raynox HD-5050 PRO-LE HIGH DEFINITION WIDE ANGLE CONVERSION LENS 0.5x. Sit back and enjoy the flight.

She looks very much at ease Larry - seems smooth and highly positive. That Enigma annoys me though:)

Thanks Mike, Do you have a Enigma I with the shiney screen or a new one? other than the pointer thingy (I never noticed before) ours have been fantastic and I wouldn't trade mine for the world.

    Hi Mike,
You know you pointed out that the ASI was drawn with 12 mph increments and that annoys you. I can see that as being annoying to some but honestly we have been so used to glancing at the needle and the HUGE number right under the instrument gauge (AS in print) that we barely even notice the 12 mph increments. But I will ask them if this can be corrected. I am sure it can be so all the increments are 10 mph increments. There are a couple of other annoying things they are fixing right now like wind direction and strength calculation but besides these couple of small things largely we have had good results and good service from the instrument and the company behind it. You can draw your own screen on it btw, if you didn't know or ask an MGL dealer to do something for you that you like. We have had 2 or 3 Enigmas returned due to defects and replaced with over-night service. The Enigmas we put in trikes are especially sealed for water. Hope you have the Mark-II version and not the older Enigmas ... they weren't that great, especially with RFI handling.

Mine's the Mk II Abid. I think the wind speed/direction and ASI not working are pretty major; if we only look at the digital readouts then why have analogue gauges at all? Of course I can work around all its faults but just don't see why I should have to on what is new and, quite expensive. Also their manual sucks. I like the colors though :)

    Hi Mike,
The wind speed/direction arrow is actually being fixed right now. We bitched about. Next release should have that fixed. The ASI giving the 12 mph increments may be simply how our screen is designed by Matt. I will check if he can change that for us. I'll try and remember and let you know when we have tested their wind screen/direction fix. I am guessing you have the SP-2 compass sensor then in your trike.

Tom Donavan ... Thanks. You think we can find some dealers in France for the Revo? An active trike school who knows the system a bit for registration and flight authorization there?

At 1:26 are the winglets we put on the wing. They are made of clear Lexan plastic

Hey Ken, you have heard of curb feelers for a car? these are runway feelers for a trike
:-) Just kidding... they're vertical stabilizers.

At only $25.00 a piece you can replace them or abuse them pretty good and they hold up so much better than fiberglass. I had the fiberglass ones on during testing for 24 hours and had hanger rash already in that short period.

Jozinko ... exceed your resources. Nah . You are an instructor, just find a rich student, teach him to fly a trike and have him buy a Revo 912S Reflex-11 and then fly it. That's why I got into instructing :)

Yes Abid, that's way for me too. For all that I teaching to fly, make scenic flights, etc etc... Then I could to buy my new trike with Profi. Better than teaching is flying for rich organizations - if they have a sport or adrenaline days for his people or partners. With a SPECIAL requests... I love them:-)
Rich people here bought a helicopters or a planes.
And thanks for bank tip :-))

Rich people there only buy helicopters and planes?? They don't want to have fun? You know that the best fun is in trikes. No, I think rich people look at some of the trikes available there and go - I am not sitting in lawn chair - I think they are much more likely to sit in a Revo because it gives a different perception

You are right. The best fun is in trike. In our country will by a problem in another side - money. You know a Hungarian people. We are all the some - poor... Your Revo912+propeller+landing lights+BRS+trim (its beautiful, I know) WITHOUT WING = $62.000. It is too expensive. In this price can buy here 2 (Two pieces) complete CarboneOne trike+912+BRS+prop+lights+trim+ towing system+2helmets+intercom+radio+instructor package+AerosTL wing. heheh...and mine trike quite 3 pieces maybe... :-) This is our problem. Yes, Revo has its price, but in our country is unsaleable. Unfortunately.

"putain, belle machine et facile à équilibrer"

Damn, Nice machine, Easy to balance

    Is that right?
Thanks. Yes we think so. Larry should post the picture we have at our office. Its called the "wow" factor when trikers first see the Revo in person. :). LOL
