Landing practice with New Rival X Wing

eg: stopmotion, new-york, street
Rival X is the newest official wing for Revo from Evolution trike. It has 13% more surface area than Rival S. It climbs steeper, glides amazingly well and very stable, yet keeps light handling. It cuts through turbulence very well. Great speed range between 50 and 90 MPH. I just love it !!

Really nice landings! We should all strive to make out landings like your last one.

    I have two questions?

    1) What is the prime difference between Rival X and Northwing's GT 5 wing? Or are they the same wing?

    2) How much does this wing cost?

Philip, thanks. It is 14m wing. Rizzy, you should ask Larry. I'm not sure he sells it to other trike owners.

At the 6 second mark why does the hang block move back on the keel so far when the wing starts to get loaded.

Rizzy, they are completely different wings. Everything about them... this wing is actually based on the popular 12.4m RIVAL S wing and not a GT5 wing at all. New for this wing is 7 degrees of fixed flaps for super short takeoff and landing. Although it is very much similar in construction to the smaller S, the larger X flies completely different. You will be hearing a lot about this wing as more and more people experience this new ultra stabile large wing.

The cost with electric trim system, CNC hang block and full break in of the wing with professional tuning is $12,900.

Btw Kamron (owner of Northwing) got to fly the RIVAL X for the first time when he came to Sun N Fun. He said he was surprised how stabile it was and how responsive it was all at the same time. He went up with Wes Frey in his REVO and was apparently rolling it 45 to 45 over and over in disbelief that this wing could move with such agility for its size. He even emailed me when he returned home commenting again how much he liked it.

Many upgrades have been made to the GT5 since 2008 when he came out with it. It to has evolved. There is a tremendous amount of synergy between our companies.

Joey, the trim system needs lift in order to "activate". So when the wing starts producing lift the hang block moves aft until
The 2 cables tighten up. Then the cables either pull the HB forward or release the HB backwards in flight moving the hang point up to 4". On the ground the hang gblock moves forward which is nice because most strut braced wings are statically nose heavy. This trim system causes the control bar to pull away from the pilot on the ground during taxi like a cable braced wing normally would.

Larry makes amazing wings. I am sticking with the smaller Rival S because I need to be able to fly in high winds and turbulence. Size matters.

However, when I get a REVOLT for outback flying, I will have a hard time deciding how much bigger wing I will want. Now there are so many choices...... HMMMMMMM
