Oh wow, awesome....I like the pic quality much much better than the camera you had before...just look at the clarity :) Well I guess we will see the other 150 hours in even crispier colors.

That looked great Henry, Santa hasn't got mine to me yet, so look forward to trying it after Christmas, but that look very crisp, nice colour, good quality, so far so good...

Another great video Henry. The new GoPro Hero II is producing better color and overall sharpness then the earlier versions. Thanks for the test video.

My personal impression on HD Hero2 (comparing to HD Hero original):

    1. 25% wider angle, this works great for trikes either at wing tip or on control bar.
    2. It has aux in, so you can patch in your audio from your radio (if radio equipped so)
    3. It will support remote control in near future
    4. It has much sharper image.
    5. It uses the same case and battery with the previous version.
    6. It support up to 32GB memory.
    7. It can connect to HD TV with a HDMI connector.
    8. The color in the movie is more vivid.

    1. If you watch the movie in the large format screen or HD TV, the image has rough edge and not smooth.
    2. You can't use extra battery and LCD screen at the same time. (remains the same as previous one)

The manufacturer claims it handles low light situation better, but I haven't tested it. yet.

It looks like it weighs less than your Sanyo, or previous camera. Does it require a counter weight on the other wing tip?

Henry good to know, thanks for that....

Hi Dave, yes, it is another benefit that I don't need the counter weight for GoPro, since it is so light.

Wonderful color and angle Henry ... & beautiful place to fly ... you got them all .. sea, fields, mountains and a wonderful airfield. What a relaxing video!!!!

The GoPro II does an excellent job. Gary and I compared a couple products back then (GoPro vs Drift) ... we chose to use the Drift because of the few extra features it offered and seemed to be no compromise in video quality.

It has a small monitor screen to set your video, also a rotating lens, wide angle, extra long life battery, external mic... at the time seemed like more value for the $$$ ... still the GoPro seems to be the most popular POV out there!.

I'm not unhappy at all with the Drift we use - I like to be able to have the screen to check what I'm shooting at - of course the screen is tiny and limiting but does the job intended to do. Also the rotating lens is very handy ... you mount the camera in whatever fits best .. then simply rotate the lens, but this video shows that the GoPro II is also a very capable camera!

Gary .. what do you think!? .. the clarity of the Drift camera in low light condition seems a bit more limiting than the GoPro.... but hard to tell unless comparing side by side! The wide angle seems similar - I guess we will need one of the GoPro as well one of these days!
