Saturday morning 6:45am launch watching the moon settle in the west before the sun came up for the day. Fog on the river as it winds north toward the Blue Ridge Mountains.

That's a great shot Todd. I had plans to fly the gyroplane this weekend but got the biggest tension headache of my life.

I really like all the head room in the back seat of the DJ2. Caught the train heading north while on short final. Awesome morning to fly.

Foreflight Mobile also has audio output - for example you get "voice over" saying you are approaching a runway when on the ground taxing and then when entering the runway. Not that you need some computer generated female voice to tell you! :) The ...

The iPad is also able to wirelessly control GoPro Hero 3 cameras with their App and you get a live preview of the image being captured on the iPad to fine tune your camera position and angles. This is an added benefit I have just started to enjoy ...

This set-up is more flexible than my previous MGL Enigma where I had to do planning on my computer and then load the SD Card into the Enigma that was fixed in the panel. I think it is a big benefit being able to remove the iPad to do flight ...

Here is a shot of the cradle which was designed for first version of iPad which was thicker than my iPad v2 so added some cork to take up extra space.

I use a RAM Mount on the compression strut and Ram Mount Cradle. Very secure in flight.

I really love the full iPad for navigation with Foreflight Mobile. The large size is easy on the eyes.

Abid: I will post a pic later but I use a RAM Mount on the compression strut with the iPad in landscape position. It brings the iPad out a bit from the panel which is good and does not get in the way of the control bar or block any panel ...

I use a full size iPad on my Delta Jet 2 and with bar mitts and inner gloves (with thumb and forefinger cut out). I like the metal rivet idea.

    Hey Todd,
I saw you joined the Tanarg Triker's group today! Awesome!
Thanks for the help with the Enigma panel- it is a lot of work to switch- better to get it stock I'd say. It's about 90% wired in now (so many harnesses to make, engine, radio, comm, transponder, etc). I'll have info and pictures to share with anyone who wants to know how I did it- also I collected a lot of the technical details and drawings in one location now.
Anyway, I hope to be in the air again soon- it's possible it could be just before sunset tonight if things go smoothly today. Have some great flights yourself.

Congrats Todd! I bet it was awesome for you. We'll have to all get together for some flying soon. There is 3 of us around MB, SC. I had emailed Jonny T about getting my check ride this fall. Still had not set a date for that. It would of been a good weekend for flying here in Myrtle Beach but I had to do the yard sale thing & I strained my back putting in a new hot water heater. Shouldn't of carried it myself. Congrats again!!

Hi Todd, You can't get any better instruction than from Terri--top notch gentleman! Yes, the Clipper is sold and new owner, James Mauch, is located in Louisville. He'll be receiving his new bird next week if the weather cooperates. He has 25 hours of training, so I should be able to get him up and going rather quickly.

Keep in mind asking Terri to come to Greensboro for some of your latter training. The cost can be split between others requiring his services. I've also got Jonny Thompson coming to our area soon, and he is a loooong time pilot/instructor from Currituck. Fly high, Doug

Pleasure was ours Doug. I will be in Lynchburg next weekend and plan to catch a flight with Terri Sipantzi and check out his operation. My guess is that I will begin my sport pilot license training so any thoughts you might have on best place to do that would be appreciated. Kevin speaks highly of Terri. Did you sell your Clipper we saw last weekend? Todd
