After some test flights by my friend Doug Boyle and some transition training I took the XT up by myself with the new to me wing. The REVO Sport wing is pretty cool. It is fast, but it also gets off the ground in a hurry with the XT carriage. I was also able to fly at 60 mph at 3600rpm and maintain altitude. I only ran it up to about 80ish , but I know it has a lot more in her. It's going to be a good summer.

Very nice looking bird, Love the color of the wing. It goes with your trike :)

Thanks Rizzy. The wing is fast, but it was the slow speed that amazed me. I weigh about 150lbs and was able to cruise around at very low rpm. Pull the bar in though and she picks up speed fast.

Charles, looks like you got a new Revo wing too. I am surprised yout can fly at 60 mph and 3600 RPM. What is the max RPM on your engine/prop combo?

I also wonder how slow can you fly the Revo Sport (indicated airspeed)?

I haven't tested max rpm. It's running what I think is the original Bolly prop. I was climbing out at 5100rpm at about 1000fpm. Depending on weather I plan to do so more practice work near the airport until I'm comfortable with the new wing and make sure all the bugs are worked out of the whole wing trike package.

The 912UL 80hp on the XT is setup with the stock Bolly prop to turn 5600rpm static. Chuck doesn't necessarily use full power on climbout when Solo. When the air was still dense we were seeing 1300-1800 fpm on the gauges at full power. Lately, the Air has been a bit bouyant and I rather expect he will see more like 4000rpms at Cruise on the lower end of the Speed spectrum. We did not fatten up the pitch of the prop to attain lower RPM's at Cruise. Chuck is a lean, mean flying machine and doesn't block much air nor weigh-in at nose tackle numbers. I've been looking for some heavy rocks to put in his pockets so that the rest of us can keep up....

I was feeling a bit jealous of your performance until I realized you were flying in thick dense air near sea level. Have fun with your new wing. The wing is everything. Get a new wing and you have a new trike.

Our field elevation is 820ft I think. Plus I'm on the light side and only had 9 gallons on board. I'm looking forward to getting to know my new wing.

Jeff, the Reflex Sport is an older discontinued model 12.5m Wing with the same wing span as your 14m. It is highly efficient being high aspect ratio and low twist. It flies awesome, but stall break is slightly hard and roll control is sluggish at high angle of attack. Roll pressure is light, but not really for a small 12m wing. On the light XT carriage it is still a fraction of the roll pressure of any of the OEM strut braced wings. Turbulence handling is good, but average for a 12m wing. Over all they Fly outstanding on a light carriage and good on a heavier carriage. The RIVAL series wings are all about flying at slow speed with amazing control and going faster on the top end with quicker lighter roll handling at all speeds.
