This thread has me considering a transponder much more than I had thought of before. Fortunately I have an errant few $$$ wasting away in a brokerage account that's not supposed to be there (who knew that stock was going to pop like that?) so there ...

If I were to prioritize safety equipment on my trike it would be 1) Cell phone with good coverage 2) SPOT with tracking and a page set up for your family/friends to keep tabs on you. 3) Transponder (Mode C or Mode S) 4) BRS 5) PCAS I have them ...

My life is worth way more than the cost of a BRS. My hanger queen probably will never have a structural failure but I fly with other trikers and I my concern is a mid air collision. I fly defensively and we are all careful pilots. Sometimes ...

The emergency T-Handle has about a 8-10 inch slack before it actually starts to pull. My ignition keys are linked to the pin. Keys in/pin pin out, keys out/pins in.

well, as usual whenever this subject is re-visited we beat it to death, and i get chased outa' the village by a bunch of true-believers wielding pitch-forks, yelling 'burn him, he's a witch'. i can see a time when 'big brother' will mandate brs ...

Turns out there are two ways (2) to deploy a BRS (at least). Can any of you explain how you might fire the rocket with the safety pin still in the handle?

WE great point about ELT's. These are not required in a trikes but one of the best "things gone really bad" tools. Make sure you get the 406 MHz so the satellites can get you in a steep canyon where the OLD 121.5 is only line of site, old technology ...
