I really wish our Florida members all the best with Irma. Hope it works out ok. Hey Larry maybe it's an opportunity to make the revo hover at 100 mph!

Think about it a little Rizwan, stand in front of the wing when it's level and look at the angle the a-frame makes with the wing. Now tilt the wing all the way to one side and look at the angle again (for each a-frame upright) then think about what ...

I've looked at another pic on Kathryns report and it shows pretty well the leading edge tube broken in bending and sticking out through the sail material. Looks like impact damage from the left wing hitting the water. From what I can see as well it ...

Andy, starting from the top pics 2 and 4. You mean the front of the keel? Then yes you are correct but if you follow the wing leading edge out to where the side wires connect you will see what I'm talking about. It is difficult to be certain though ...

He seems to have made a few approaches for whatever reason so perhaps he was initiating a go-around. Not that I disagree with you Bryan but just keeping an open mind

My thoughts as well Paul. You can see from one of the photos where the leading edge of the sail is ripped exposing either the tube or the Mylar. This may have been caused after impact but one area to look at and do a betts test on the sail and ...

A new Q2 sail with the black colored trilam trailing edge reinforcement band will cruise at 75mph and handles much like the gt450 except with a slightly higher rpm as its slightly less efficient in cruise. They are dated but with some modern tweaks ...

That said, there is one thing I notice in the q2 when fully loaded and that is when doing turns in turbulent air it can need a lot of muscle to keep coordinated.

I'm flying one of these at the moment and they are very docile as Larry says. I would be very interested to know the cause as litres very unusual for this wing to bite. If I were asked I'd be looking at component failure or pilot health. I think the ...

Hard to tell much from the rear, unless your teaching. Pity you couldn't get the front seat, but they are expensive machines I suppose. It's great to meet fellow trikers around the world though and something you will never forget

Forgive me Scott if you've already done this but have you spoken to Giles or any of the guys at air creation? I remember seeing a clipper trike a few years back with a BMW on it. Maybe it was a factory fit?

The raven is the name on the actual wing part.
The trike is called the Hybred "R", but mine got a cool respray and Quantum pants and a set of hydraulic brakes. Best climb I have got is 800ft/min sustained! It could go over 1000ft/min for brief bursts. Best sink rate at idle is 300ft/min and it cruises between 50 and 60 mph, its nice at 55mph but could do 80 mph if needed. it has a vne of 100mph, is really light in pitch and light in roll at higher airspeeds.

I checked out the Medway Raven site. I didn't see the 'Raven' model but what I did saw impressed me. What's you rate of climb and airspeed? That 503 is a sturdy and reliable little Rotax with an incredible power to weight ratio. Joe

Pardon me Sir!...leave it to a Texan to confuse the issue...I'm Irish too! How long have you been flying Trikes? Your pictures of the Irish countryside from 800 AGL are really fascinating. It sure is pretty country you fly over. I visited there in Southern Ireland for 5 weeks in 1980 and have fond memories of my stay...except for the weather. Nobody told me that January and February is not the best time to visit Ireland. I guess I should have checked my travel guide first. Joe

Hi Wexford. The pylon has a a simple but sturdy pin that unscrews and it folds down just like a Pegasus Quantum. The Astra is built here in the USA in Bloomfield Indiana by and Irishman named Allistair Wilson who is also a very accomplished trike flyer. He used to work for Pegasus as their representative until Pegasus pulled the plug on the American market in 2001. He took the original Pegasus design and reworked it for the USA market by adding 2 inches in width and 2 inches in length and made the aircraft heavier by 20 lbs beefing up the parts he deemed that needed it. I'm a big man and I appreciate the extra room. It flies wonderfully and I am just thrilled to have her.
I posted a reply to your picture with the fields that you identified yesterday but it seems to gone the way of the cyber-fairy. Anyway, I asked about where fly in the UK and what kind of trike your have. All The Best, Joe
