  The raven is the name on the actual wing part.
  The trike is called the Hybred "R", but mine got a cool respray and Quantum pants and a set of hydraulic brakes. Best climb I have got is 800ft/min sustained! It could go over 1000ft/min for brief bursts. Best sink rate at idle is 300ft/min and it cruises between 50 and 60 mph, its nice at 55mph but could do 80 mph if needed. it has a vne of 100mph, is really light in pitch and light in roll at higher airspeeds.

  I checked out the Medway Raven site. I didn't see the 'Raven' model but what I did saw impressed me. What's you rate of climb and airspeed? That 503 is a sturdy and reliable little Rotax with an incredible power to weight ratio. Joe

  Pardon me Sir!...leave it to a Texan to confuse the issue...I'm Irish too! How long have you been flying Trikes? Your pictures of the Irish countryside from 800 AGL are really fascinating. It sure is pretty country you fly over. I visited there in Southern Ireland for 5 weeks in 1980 and have fond memories of my stay...except for the weather. Nobody told me that January and February is not the best time to visit Ireland. I guess I should have checked my travel guide first. Joe

  I fly from a 600m strip in Wexford Ireland (Not UK!!!!) Its a Medway Raven and powered by a Rotax 503DCDI.

  Hi Wexford. The pylon has a a simple but sturdy pin that unscrews and it folds down just like a Pegasus Quantum. The Astra is built here in the USA in Bloomfield Indiana by and Irishman named Allistair Wilson who is also a very accomplished trike flyer. He used to work for Pegasus as their representative until Pegasus pulled the plug on the American market in 2001. He took the original Pegasus design and reworked it for the USA market by adding 2 inches in width and 2 inches in length and made the aircraft heavier by 20 lbs beefing up the parts he deemed that needed it. I'm a big man and I appreciate the extra room. It flies wonderfully and I am just thrilled to have her.
