    Glide Distance from 1000ft AGL 2 km 1.2 miles (5280 x 1.2 = 6336 feet)

    6336 feet / 1000 feet = 6.336 glide ratio

Where do you get that 49 kts is the best glide speed at MTOW?
Why would a manufacturer have a whole section in the manual on glide and not list the glide at best glide speed in it Alf. Doesn't make sense?

54 Kts is the fast trim of Streak-III?? Are you sure because that is only 62 MPH. I think the fast trim of Streak-III is about 73 MPH

I have checked it out and you are correct in what it states, it states that the engine is off at mauw and the trimmer set in the fast position at 54kts
the best glide speed is 49kts which would give it it's 10 to 11.1 i was stating.
Thats where I was confusing myself.
How does the REVO reflex 11 wing compare with the trimmer off in a standard hands off engine off glide at mauw just for interest sake?.
I know my SST wing glides better than the old ST3

Alf, I am sure 912XT ST3 has no where near 10:1 or 11:1 glide ratio. Not only does that not stand up to the flights I have done or others who I know who own 912XT with ST3 have measured its also not what Airborne 912XT manual states (which by the way it states 7:1) if you check it out. That's quite ok because when Streak III was designed, that was pretty much the norm. Its a 4th generation wing. However in Airborne's case, I believe its still their best wing if I were to buy an Airborne trike myself. That however is a personal opinion.

    Dear Alf:

    Thanks again for your answers.

I'm getting pretty good at landing my XT-912. The only thing that gives me trouble is the trike has a left turn in it. I'm going to have to get it tuned out, somehow. I think my wheel broke during landing while I was trying to get back on the runway after the round out shot me left of center about 30 feet. Which made me get a little low and slow on the flare (getting back to center or the runway).

I do hold the bar gently when flying. I feel comfortable and not tense. During my instruction that was pointed out to me. so, I've watched for that issue.

I have done stall but never just put the throttle to idle and let go of the bar. I thought that I would ask you guys before; I tried it myself. I don't want to assume anything.

    Sincerely,

    John Heckendorf

    Hi John,
Basically wing off is when it is not connected to the mast. the gap is usually slightly more than when the wing is connected.
Sounds like everything is ok if you still have 1/2" gap with the wing connected that is about the normal.

    Alf:

Please explain what you mean by "Wing Off."

I think that I understand "wing on." When raising the wing to place it on the post coming through the dash/panel. There should be a 1/2 inch gap between the wing's front post and the panel post. I'll have to check this distance on Tuesday night when; I go to the airport.

    Sincerely,

    Dear Alf:

The landing was a little hard. But, I've harder ones. I think it was a combination of all the not so good landing. It is funny how nothing else was affected. I ordered a new rim and wheel. I just hope nothing else is wrong.

    Sincerely,

    Heck
