"Kevin Szalapski" commented on Rizwan Bukhari's Blog "Winterizing the Four Stroke 912".
I have read that it is a good idea to pre-heat the oil if you are planning on starting the 912 engine at Temps below 20 degrees F. So starting the engine twice a month should be preceded by heating the oil up, if temp is below 20 degrees F. I have ...

"Kevin Szalapski" commented on Paul Hamilton's Blog "Trike engine reliability. Are they all equal?".
I have a 912 engine on my trike. The one thing I do to decrease the odds of an engine failure in flight, is send in an oil sample to Blackstone Labs on every oil change. ( about 50 hours) It costs $26 and you know if any parts are shedding pieces of ...

Kevin Szalapski I went to Zephyrhills Florida for some advanced training flying the Rival S wing with Larry. I made a short video of Larry talking about the aeronautical design of the Rival S wing, and how the innovations effect the wing in flight. Not wanting to be all talk and no action I used a few of Henry's video clips at the end. Thank you Henry. Note: I have a Rival S wing on my Airborne 912 XT. https://youtu.be/zS23d7hSlEk

I had that happen with my 582, and I discovered the fuel line was kinked a little bit at a 90 deg turn. It supplied enough fuel at idle and 1/2 throttle, however at full throttle there was not enough flow to keep engine running.

I do not know the temperature of the water, but I could suggest a wetsuit. I know hypothermia time is much longer with a 2 piece wetsuit on, protecting your core. I know a pilot flying F15's years ago, in the Airforce out of Duluth Mn and they were ...
