My first introduction to wake turbulence was a similar situation, dead calm late afternoon conditions with several trikes in the pattern practicing low passes. About 2/3 along the runway on my low pass and suddenly wham, slammed down on the runway. ...

B Alvarius commented on Ted Bailey's picture.
I sewed a harness for a square 5 gallon tank and hung it under the engine mount on my racer. I could fly from Phoenix to the California border and back with 10 gallons of gas. With the double surface XP11 wing it made the out and back cross ...

B Alvarius commented on Henry Trikelife's Video.
Henry, I had an XP11 wing on my racer which was plenty quick and by carrying an extra 5 gallons of gas (temporarily plumbed in) I was able to cover several hundred miles on a trip, but ran out of room for all the other stuff.

Nice one Henry, looks like great fun. I must admit that I miss my old single seat racer.

Incredible presentation. The ability to change the perspective and view by moving the video image is a real game changer in trike videos. Well done and I look forward to some interesting future videos.

"B Alvarius" commented on Paul Hamilton's Blog "Call to Action. Adding Spiral recovery Tasks to the Practical Test Standards (PTS).".
Tony notes "Because the proper recovery from some unusual [emphasis mine]maneuvers may actually be counter-intuitive". The key word in this statement is "unusual". White Eagle then states "So the real focus is not how to recover from a spiral dive ...

It seems every location has it drawbacks no matter where you live, but the best thing is just to be back in the air.

Rizzy I did the CFI thing and found it an interesting and rewarding learning experience. I came up through the old BFI/AFI system under the ultralight rules and was not planning on transitioning to CFI but decided to make the move when I observed ...

Anyone wanting to fly the 1500 square miles of boot heel of New Mexico should consider the Painted Pony Resort as a base of operations.
    http://www.paintedponyresort.com/
With it's own runways and hanger plus 9 bedrooms, 5 RV spots, heated pool, hot tub, pool table, ping pong table, basket ball, and large outdoor courtyard for dining and parties it is a comfortable retreat when not flying and for spouses. Plus the Chiricahua Mountains are full of hiking trails for exploration. Hike it then fly it, or fly it then hike it.

Thank you. I have written several entries about making aerial photographs <a href="http://theskygypsies.blogspot.com/2009/07/panoramic-aerial-photographs-utility-of.html" target="_blank">here>, <a href="http://theskygypsies.blogspot.com/2009/07/self-portrait-or-how-it-is-done.html" target="_blank">here</a>, and <a href="http://theskygypsies.blogspot.com/2009/06/different-kind-of-aerial-photography.html" target="_blank">here</a>. It is mostly planning and composition.

No John it was that green, it was recorded after the rains. I have been working on this technique for about 7 months and only now have it working. The first attempt became "Dark Planet UFOs" (2D) and I have been recording footage since then for 3D.
