Trainer bar base tube attachment. Looks scary to me. What do you think about this E-LSA mod?

E-LSA? Looks like that's their experiment. Will it hold? Stay tuned!

It's safety wired! That's how you know it's avaiation quality. What's the big deal? It's not like it's a flight control or anything important. :-)

They must be a excellent student pilot knowing you will never have to touch the rear control bars as an instructor!:)

if this 'instructor' condones this 'repair' can you imagine what his 'instruction' regime is? (from his pre flight with student,) " ok, when i yell UP ! i want you to push that tube-thing away from your belly, when i yell DOWN! suck it in . whichever side of your head i whack push that tube-thingy the other way, i'll have you larned in no time ".

This is what I would fear more than the whole in the downtube for this mod. In turbulence or simply "getting on it", I can envision this mod not holding side to side, perhaps creating an error chain that could effect the hole in the downtube........

So if this is the other end of the down tube item ? ...then why not show them both?? I think Monty read this right ...now we wait patiently for the next wind up...
Motives are now highly questionable and i reverse any thanks I offered .. My psychoanalysis skill are not high but my bullshit meter has just hit the stops!

That was funny Lindsay, Monty I would prefer a gentle stroke on my cheek for turn instructions, is that weird? and Paul, I must reflect on your reasons for the "drip feed" on information assuming you had both photos at the same time.

Gees Lindsey I posted both pictures at the same time. Fact check this simply by going to pictures and seeing them posted at the same time. No need for a conspiracy accusation here. YES BOTh ENDS OF THE BAR were shown at the same time. Philip, no drip feed and please do not accuse me of such it is not good for any of us. I am amazed this would come from fellow trikers........

Hi Paul, we're all learning from this post, as well as having a little 'giggle', after all the picks are SO outlandishly funny to have been inflicted on an aircraft that our 'is this for real alarm?' was activated! Sounds like your feathers got ruffled. That wasn't my intent. My sometimes corny attempts at injecting some humor into this too often lethal 'hobby' is not intended to hurt anyone personally, but only in a lame attempt to get 'a giggle'. You ,Ole and Larry are my trike heros so there!

Monty, I can not remember you ever riffeling my feathers, but I do not remember back that far. In fact I enjoy your original sense of humor. I was serious about the duct tape being a better option for the top of the bar as you said “less intrusive”, well said.

Yes I see what happened ... now I failed to scan properly before acting ,assuming the sky was clear ..
Easy to be myopic as new posts is usually the entry to the pattern here.
The bottom fitting is worse than the top one .

But proves that the mechanically declined should be trained to leave the bonnet shut.
I wonder he or she did not just drill the base tube as well ...
back in the day we just flew back seat from the rear wires .

Has any body ever been overpowered by the front guy ? Or the back guy ? as PIC of course .
I had to bash a guys helmet once screaming "my aircraft".

    3 axis guy of course

Yes Lindsay as you say I agree "My psychoanalysis skill are not high but my bullshit meter has just hit the stops!" And also the big question as you say "Motives are now highly questionable". Makes you wonder...........

If you were reporting an important issue ,more info and context would have been and still is important here .I occasionally miss read things and own up ,glad to have learned .

What was the out come of the death trap trike ?
Is it still being flown like that ?
Too may important questions here ..un answered .
Perhaps I'm to fussy about people needlessly killing themselves and others ..with ignorance and poor training at the center of the coroners report.
I would expect a CFI to be fully across this .. I gave it up long ago because i knew I was not competent to teach some halfwits for exactly these reasons .
But I have an understanding of the frame work ...again thanks for posting as we are now at the center of the problem that anybody with a can of cash can fly and own their own 2 seat aircraft . After being properly trained of course.
