This was the set for the 1974 Bond movie "The Man with the Golden
Gun" starring Roger Moore during his "safari suit" period. The
"tack" shaped small island in the foreground is the one which
sprouted mirrored wings which in turn, powered the laser thingy
that the 3-nippled Scaramanga used to blow-up 007's seaplane. James
landed his seaplane on the beach on the other side of this island
and hooked-up with "Goodnight" (Brit Ekland) and the
Champagne-serving dwarf "Nik-Nak". The nadir of Bond films!
Hi Mike, bring back a lot of memories, nice photos, will have to
return one day, go steady, Steve.
Oh! forgot to tell you just about to finish my conversion on the
fixed wing, so come winter time will warmer than the flex. Steve.
Fantastic! Breathtaking! Goodonyer Mike! What a flight that must
have been, or is, if you do it regularly, as I suspect! Looks like
early morning judging from the shadows and the sea state. That's
when I do most flying - when you have the world to yourself! BTW
IMHO Bond films have got even worse in recent times and I wish
SMERSCH or similar would put them out of their misery!!
