Rizwan Bukhari I wanted to be a CFI and bought CFI Instructor Training Books. I have changed my mind because, I don't feel that my skill level is where I can teach others and also my wife doesn't want me to pursue it. So for me it is back to Experimental flying. I guess my new direction is to fly and share the gift of flight with my friends and shoot a lot of videos like Damien or Jeff. Please email me at rizzywizzy@yahoo.com if you are interested in CFI training books. See my ad in the Marketplace

Thanks Larry, I admire your review for your competitor. Very nicely written. I don't have M3 but I bought an Airborne XT 912 a few months ago and I love it.

Part 103... no one can tell them not to fly it except their wives... both had lessons but weren't ready to solo and couldn't land with the instructor. Showing the REV fly with no hands might have been responsible for these attempts at flight. But ...

Larry,I wonder if those accidental takeoffs were from guys with good 3 axis experience ...In my short days as instructor ,I had more trouble in this way with those who could already fly (3 axis)than those who knew that they could not. Typically ...

Perhaps the best word to use when looking at the difference between low and high performance wings is 'consequence' - on a high performance wing the consequences of any inadequacies in pilot technique are far, far more likely to result in losing ...

Hi Monty: I understand what you are saying. I just wanted to specify what the wing was on the trike in question. IMO quite docile and lands reasonably slow and benign stall characteristics. Interesting about your description of discomfort in the ...

We have now had not one but 2 untrained people "accidentally" take off in their REVs. In both cases no injuries and less than $1000 damage. Now it certainly could have ended fatal for both pilots, whoops that's the wrong word, people, but the slow ...

Hi abid, thanks for the 'heads up' re the trike involved in the accident. In my comment my mention of high performance trikes, and 100mph rocket ships specifically excluded these as causes of this tragedy. They were merely observations of the ...

Guys from what I know, the trike and wing Reb was flying would hardly be considered 100 MPH high performance aircraft. This wing was based on a wing we co-designed with Northwing. It was 13.8 or so sq. meters, hardly a nimble rocketship. Its fairly ...

Hey Joe, I'm with you ~ from where I'm sitting inside on a stormy winter morning, a bigger danger than dying somehow in the great outdoors is the risk of mediocrity and a slow, unremarkable acquiescence to old age. At least Reb was living the life ...

I never met reb, but enjoyed his 'laid back' videos, in Common with the rest of us, and was of course shocked at the news. We all are screaming for a cause, but with all of us have to be patient and wait for the verdict. I sent several would be ...

A few more thoughts and responses to recent posts. I agree with Paul when he says "The sad reality is that in most cases it is pilot error in one form or another." In fact I have been quoted as saying that pilot error is responsible for 99.99% of ...

Lindsay, I have to say I really liked your ideas about insurance not being about dollars or paperwork but self-responsibility. While I don't believe in eliminating risk - which would mean staying on the ground; understanding risk and selecting a ...

Well said Paul, you know that in one perspective, not that any death is acceptable but he was doing what he loved and most likely accepted all the risk involved. It is not such tragedy for and older gentleman as opposed to a younger one . I would ...
