E Harv wrote a new blog: "Help with comms, please".
I've already settled on a pair of Icaro helmets with built-in headsets, but I'm confused as to what kind of comm box I would need to pair them with.  And they offer Peltor headsets with their stock helmets, but I'd be willing to purchase any ...

Floats work on land, but wheels don't work on water. If you have floats or a boat hull under you, you can safely land on water OR land, even without wheels. You'll have a logistical nightmare to deal with if you find yourself sitting in a farm ...

Not that it would have made a difference in this particular crash, but why don't these island pilots fly trikes with floats? It would greatly increase their landing options in case of any kind of engine failure.

"E Harv" commented on Paul Hamilton's Blog "Advanced Triking – Above and beyond normal Flying".
"From the other prerequisites it is common knowledge that you can increase lift by increasing angle of attack and/or speed." Well, then I'm confused and would like to better understand. As far as I understand a trike wing, increasing the angle of ...

Thanks for putting this together. Double-checking some details before you go to print... Practice in bumpy air before calm air? Is this a typo?... "The pilot should first master the normal flight maneuvers, ground reference maneuvers and ...

Awesome video E Harv. Loved the way you dragged the rudder in the water, beautiful. I was going to try that flying over at my inlaws lake but was advised that dragging my tire in the water might have different consequences! :-)

Thanks for the nice reactions to the video. I actually take the flying boat out year-round, but with a full wetsuit on in the winter for warmth in the air as well as in the water. So yes, I do look forward to summer flying.
