Ive had snow get up inside my wheel pants and freeze after I parked it. I couldn't move it out of the hangar the next time I wanted to fly. Had to knock the frozen snow out of the wheel pants before I could fly again. Winter flying is the best ...

Hi Scott - Mufflers are the most likely place on a trike to see failures and breakage. They get really hot and fluctuate their temps wildly, are a big appendage to the engine that vibrates at different frequency, while being made of material that is ...

Scott Blixt Thanks Abid. I was having a hard time finding the part number for that piece as it did not show in the Rotax parts catalog. But a little more digging brought it up on the Leaf catalog

You can get a new part and get it TIG welded back on after cleaning this one. Apply high temp (copper) anti-seize between this and the other part so they don't gall. Movement should be checked every annual.

Scott Blixt The socket on my 912 muffler has cracked and broken off on one of the inlets. I have a welder looking at it now for a possible fix. Rotax wants $952 for a new muffler. If I have to replace this, Im thinking of going with 2 separate mufflers like what Northing sells. Im looking for ideas on my options. Anyone have any experience with fixing a cracked inlet on there Rotax muffler?

HI Ken. Sorry for the delay in answering. There is no public strip in Montgomery. I fly out of my back yard. I have 2 strips. Both 600-700' long. Fly in anytime. And yes, I'm still flying my 912 powered Airborne trike

Hi Scott, Is there a public airstrip in Montgomery? Or do you have your own field?

Nice XT912! Are you still flying that?
