Elijah Tate Buzz Waterhouse was killed early this morning flying his trike in Taos at the airport. Buzz was a good friend. I called Chris Dahl-Bradine, his close flying buddy. It's a shock because Buzz was such an avid flyer. The accident happened either on takeoff or landing according to reports. I flew with Chris and Buzz last November for their flight reviews. My recollection is that Buzz was meticulous to the extreme with safety. His preflight would take a good 15 minutes. He didn't miss a thing. Buzz had a system for doing everything prior to flying his machine. It was a detailed checklist that he obviously committed to memory. His preflight check was done systematically and with time consuming detail. He flew a North Wing Navajo 582. My condolences to his wife and everyone that knew and flew with him. This is a sad day. Chuck Burgoon Chances are I’ll take the gyro. I can fly it in ANYTHING and it’s really easy and fast to set-up. However, my wife prefers me to bring my Pegasus with 19M strutted wing (my “hauler trike”) so she can fly too (when it’s smooooth). So it depends on the forecast. The Continental’s back seat is too cramped, and it’s intended to strictly be a “Hanger Trike” and for XCs.

Chuck Burgoon I took the liberty of adding it to my fly-in list that I circulate widely. Looks like great fun!

Hi Elijah, I'm one of your fellow Texas Trikers and just started on getting my SP ticket. I live outside of Wimberley and as I understand it, you live in West Texas over in the Palo Duro country. Beautiful country. Anyway, I just wanted to say helllo and touch base. Later On, Joe
