I created this blog so we can follow Dave's adventure and comment
on his experience. You can also live track his progress on
Spot-Live and google earth
Tomorrow he will be going down to Dave Lords airstrip in his back
garden, Lordy is an English trike instructor with a school in
France. I might fly north and share a beer with them.
Looks like he's on the move again!
I need a translation: When he talks about his radio batteries being
"knackered," it kinda sounds like he's talking about using a
hand-held/battery operated radio for a near round the world
flight?
He pushed hard on that first attempt to cross the channel- that was
gutsy.
David, In the conversations that I have had, it seems that his main
trike battery was knackered (broken, no good anymore). I would
guess that he has a couple of radios and at least one running off
internal batteries, as per the Icom A3 or A6.
What's going on with Dave Sykes transponder? He has been turned
back twice during his trip for a transponder not working. He has
been stuck on Qatar for 4 days now. Come on guys give a chap some
help out there.
Hey Mike in Thailand, keep your eye out for Dave Sykes, it looks
like he is getting closer to you, his flight plan has him going
through Phuket some time.
Hi Jeff, yea that was pretty amazing blog, iv,e been flowing his
flight and the blogs are great.Any one who hasent read it have a
look, it,s great stuff
I wonder what's going on with Dave Sykes, seems like he is stuck in
Thandwe on his way to Yangon. Maybe the monsoon rain is keeping him
grounded. His blog disappeared.
Ken / Jan hi, i was just going to post a comment saying i couldent
get onto his blog. Looks like he,s very rained in! hope he gets in
the air again soon.

If you haven't done so already, read day 24, when he gets "browned out" in a sandstorm.
