Tanarg Oil Temperature / Heat Issue: the above photo shows one of the AC factory fixes for decreasing the oil temperatures. On each side of the radiator are installed factory after market fins, designed to promote airflow out the back of the radiator (by creating a suction effect I believe). Also shown on the left is the airscoop I made myself to increase the airflow in to the front side of the radiator/cooler.

I would question this factory fix! The factory produced a bigger oil cooler that fits in front of the water radiator, but on the right hand side of the trike. They fitted the fins to increase the airflow through the whole lot.
Perhaps you have an early version of the factory fix.

    Hey Bob,
I was hoping you would comment. In mine, the factory "fix" was to put the oil cooler in front of the water radiator on the LEFT. ...... The fins are smaller than the ?newer? tight ass rear end that I uploaded a photo of earlier. You seem to be very up on all this, is that tight ass the newest fix? What else do you suggest. What else have you done. By the way, I weighed my airscoop, it's about 6 oz. What do you think of it, and or of the other things I did to try and achieve improvements?

The new oil cooler model number is OCF13. You can probably look it up on the web and find out the physical size of the thing to see if it is bigger than the one that you have now. You say that you are using full synthetic oil so I would not worry about the oil temp till it gets to 270 ish. I only get mine to 250 if I am thrashing about on full throttle with a passenger. It gets pretty hot here in the south of France in the summer too.

By the way, the ES means Extra silent.

You might want to talk to the US Aircreation dealer as the factory tell me that they sent a number of the later oil cooler kits to him some while ago, and they were not used!
