Since hang gliding wings are similar to trike wings and many trike pilots are/were hang gliding pilots, what are the hang gliding stories. How does this relate to triking. What did you learn from hang gliding that can be applied to trikes?

Another thing I really love about this hang gliding stuff is you get to sleep in.

Lots of different ways to look at it, but triking offers the most airtime for the money spent.

Last HG flight was a pop-off behind a boat winch which resulted in a lockout, wingover, and a landing right back where I started.

I like that "Traded the Mountain for the Motor ..." I fell for that advertising slogan from the Mosquito developer- "a thermal in a bag" turns out for me, it wasn't a strong enough thermal, and no one else could core it with me ;)

Flew flats, tows, rogallos, and Soarmasters prior to 103, then Ultralights prior to SP, and now trikes. Also towed banners on the beach and dropped skydivers when it was legal. I traded the mountain for the motor in order to get more airtime! Still fantasize about it however....

I was a hangie first and I'm a hangie still. Not only does it make me a better flier, but I don't have to put up with bureaucrats like Lumpy. FAA-610 "Where Fun went, to kick the bucket."

    Hi Paul,
Great idea for a group. I find my past experience as a hang gliding pilot has been invaluable to me as a trike pilot.
