Hi Folks,
I need a pair of large helmets w/ headsets but have some questions.
I would prefer not to spend a small fortune, but I want excellent
noise reduction and communication capabilities. I want something
that will work with my existing Comtronics intercom. Any
suggestions where to get a good deal? Are there good used or
reconditioned sets available anywhere?
Fred

Fred,
The problem is, and is always going to be ... the Comtronics part.
There is where the amplification and noise cancelling circuits
really are. It has been my expereince, having sold Comtronics,
Sport Link (used to be RAD) and now Lynx, that Comtronics really
has the poorest performance compared to all the rest. I always end
up back with Lynx for the clearest, most dependable intercom for
the buck. You will only have to buy it once.

Fred, I have a single red Lynx headset for sale shipped to you
for $295. It is in great shape if you need an extra headset. Let
me know.

Steve is right, you WILL wind up with a Lynx system sooner or
later. It is a little pricy, but will be the only system you ever
have to buy. I had a RAD system and have experienced the Comtronics
as well. I didn't have alot of money to pour into a system, but
decided to suck it up and go with the Lynx anyway. You can start
out with the bare essentials and add on from there. It will be more
expensive in the long run if you go with an inferior system then
decide to switch to Lynx.

Hi Fred. I always used Lynx, a great product. Then I tried
Microavionics and was blown away, very state of art. You see their
new integral helmet in the WAG videos on the UK team. We now only
supply their systems to our customers and are authorized to sell in
USA with 15% discount. They are not cheap for sure but I honestly
think they are now the best. You can see their lineup at http://www.microavionics.com/

Anyone know how to replace the battery in a lynx headset and
where to get the battery. I was told to send it back to Lynx but
its very expensive to have them replace the battery. Any
help would be appreciated. Denny

Hello from Demetri. My friend i am using LYNX since 1996 till today
,without any single problem.Honestly i use them very much in all
trikes and G.A.I find them to be the best.
A C.F.I friend of me was using the BOSE$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and one day
when i gave him to use a pair of LYNX in a flight he throw the BOSE
away.
The best thing for you to do is to drop a phone call to lynx in uk
and arrange to send them to the factory for a battery change.Do not
experiment with anything else.
It willm be a little costly but peace of mind is better than be in
an assumption if they will work or not.
