Trikefest Competition Rules
Please inform Competition Marshall prior to participating in each event. He’ll need your name, type of aircraft, and color.
Radar Run
Fly as fast as possible and as low as possible towards the man with the gun. Taking advantage of a tailwind is allowed; but not if it creates a traffic pattern conflict. Standard left hand traffic pattern has priority.
Balloon Drop
Obtain 3 water balloons of the same color from the Marshall.
Make 3 passes at target using the standard traffic pattern.
Drop balloon from any altitude. Aim for center circle(bullseye)
Score is made where the balloon comes to rest. All 3 will be scored.
Spot Landing
Three attempts will be made. Use standard traffic pattern. All 3 attempts will be scored.
You cannot use power after you turn final approach- you must glide at idle or with engine off.
Most points are scored if you land in the first of the 3 boxes. No points if you hit outside of all boxes.
You are marked where the rear wheels touch first. Front wheel touchdown does not matter.
TOLRAC(3 circles event)
Confirm sky and pattern is clear; so you will not have a conflict for the next couple minutes.
Clock starts when you release brakes.
You must roll through(on the ground)some portion, or all, of the 100’ x 100’ box marked on runway during departure, touch and goes, and landing. You must make 3 circuits.

    TrikeFest 2011 Officially Begins!

Last night we all flew up to a small, and I do mean small, private airstrip (800') near Champagne, IL.  Larry and Amy in the "Blue Devil" Revo, Sean and his daughter Taylor in his silver Delta Jet, Wes and Marsha Frye in their pearl white Revo, Curt and Dee in their yellow Monsoon, me and Nick in my red Monsoon, and Phil Mednick in his Apollo Fox.  All landed safely but entertaining.

We are watching the weather from Curt's place and hope to head to Cushing this afternoon.
