Latest weather (wednesday evening): "Jimmy Says"
It's colder than a witches tit out there tonight.
Wind was around 10kts out at Calif Valley today
However, on the coast today it was windy and gusty up to almost 30kts
Improving winds anticipated- still much stronger on coast than at Calif Valley

Runway was scraped of debris with heavy equipment, some gravel exists on runway. We are bringing some brooms to do some additional cleanup.

Should be a good time. I went hunting for some info regarding the wildflowers. Lots of links on the BLM site and a "Dual Sport"? Motorcyle guy.

    Weather lookin' good!

Jimmy called his niece who lives about a mile from the runway in California Valley. She said there's just been gentle breezes there the last few days. (In contrast, ti was blown out here on the coast).

No promises though. Several of us are bringing motorcycles just for something to do midday if it's blowin!

Jerry tells me that the frequency in use will be 123.45

3 more trikes will be coming. That makes about 9 trikes +, as well as other light aircraft. Should be fun.

Excerpts from Jerry's information email LAST YEAR:

    Hi everyone,

Just a note with ... info for everyone.

If you have fuel and stuff that needs to go contact me please.

Hopefully some of the folks from Camarillo will fly up and join us.

For those who have not joined us before we will be just south of the Fire Station and CommunityService District camping which is just North of the Strip.

Here is the agenda as in the past:

We will start arriving Friday and set up camp as before.

Everyone bring their own food, water etc.  Bring something to BBQ and a side dish for Saturday's BBQ.

Remember, there are no stores or stations out there so please bring what you need.

We will set up our wash tub fire pit to sit around with lawn chairs etc.

It is absolutely beautiful this year with all the rain the flowers are up, bring your cameras.

For those flying in PLEASE do a high flyover and check things out.  If there are cows in the pasture on one side of the runway please set up your landing pattern on the other side.  Please do not buzz the cows.

We should be monitoring 123.45 so give us a call on your way in.

Chad Bastian and also the Hot Air Balloon folks will be out and flying the whole weekend.

If you get a chance take time to go see their operations.  You might even get a Hot Air Balloon flight if you crew with them.  Links are provided below for you.

If you have any questions please call me at 805 XXX-XXXX

It will probably be cold at night so dress accordingly.

I look forward to another great time with you all.

    See you there,

    Jerry
