About

I plan to fly from Williamsburg, Virginia, to Butler Field, NC; thence to SC, thence GA, thence AL, TN, KY and finally up Il to Cushing Field for Trike Fest '10. I plan to start July 15, arrive @ Cushing on July 22 or July 23.

Michael Hudezt, Owner, Cushing Field, hosts Trike Fest as a pre-OSKOSH trike pilot gathering. Those who wish to fly from Cushing to Oshkosh will have plenty of company.

I'm looking for anyone in the states previously mentioned to join with me on a flight to Cushing Field.

A couple more I know have join the flock. From Jackson County Airport (Greg's hangarmate) Jeff will be flying hos Airborne 582 Streak III trike to Cushing with us. Also, Larry in Alabama will join us with his Geo powered trike. So that is great news... Also is possible the TampaAerosport team will meet us somewhere in their way from Florida to Cushing ... this is a great opportunity for some that wanted to fly there - to know do it with a group of other trikers.

Oh yea, as long as there's not leaches or cow poop in the pond I good. Otherwise I'll have to wait until everyone's asleep and crash the pool. Gary

Not sure of your exact days, but if you guys want to detour a little East to the Trikepilot Ranch, then fly around the Lake Shore, it makes a gorgeous trip. Runway is 1000ft x 75ft sod, with 500ft overrun on each end, 50' trees and 30' power lines. Not hard for any sport pilot, especially with a 14m + wing. Quik pilots just need to let out the drogue chute if they bolt and don't catch the 3rd wire ;-) Tony and Greg and Rob all have made the trip. Plenty of room at the Ranch if you want to overnight. Got a pool and a pond...pond would be good for you guys... etc. ;-)
    Cheers! spence

    Hi John,

Tony Castillo, Greg Kirby, James Mauch and I plan to give it a go. Tony and Greg plan to fly from GA to Crosswind Field here in KY. I've offered up our airfield (private grass strip 1,100 ft long) to visiting pilots. You and your flock are welcome to stop over coming and going. We have a porta-jon, water, electric and pilot bunk room (a modest airconditioned out building). If we have more sleeping over who don't want to pitch a tent, there's always room inside the hanger to throw out sleeping bags on the paved hanger floor. We've got some extra carpeting to lay down for some extra padding. I can help with a fuel run as well. Fell free to call for details if you're interested in stopping over on your journey. (270) 749-3249
    Kind regards,
    Gary
